"The Work of Christ"

Jesus Christ lived a perfect human life.  This is something no other person in the history
of the human race has done, we are all sinners. The Bible says Jesus died for our sins
and bodily rose from the grave.  In his life, death and resurrection we find forgiveness of
sins, peace with God and new life in him.

1.  Circle the keywords or phrases in the following Scriptures.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the
righteousness of God.  2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many."  Mark 10:45 (NIV)

God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right
hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured
out what you now see and hear.

1.  Read Mark 15:34-38.  What does it mean when Jesus cries out “My God, my God,
why have your forsaken me?

2.  What do you think was happening at that time?

3.  What do you think the tearing of the temple curtain symbolizes?

The resurrection of Jesus:

1.  Read Luke 24:36-43.  Why does Jesus have his disciples touch him and why does he
eat with them?

2.  Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-22. What does Jesus’ resurrection mean for us?

The intercession of Jesus:

1.  In Romans 6:23 what are the wages of sin?

2.  What is the gift of God?

3.  According to Revelation 21:8 what is the second death like?

4.  According to Revelation 21:1-7 what is eternal life like?

5.  Read 1 John 5:11-13.  Who has life?

6.  Who does not have life?

7.  In whom and through whom is eternal life found?
