“Being Filled with the Spirit”
HOME
The Holy Spirit is God’s person and power dwelling in the believer.  Jesus promised to
baptize his followers with the Holy Spirit. The Bible encourages us to be filled with the
Spirit. Like all of God’s gifts, the Holy Spirit is given to those who ask, those who want
what God has to offer.

1.  Circle the keywords or phrases in the following Scriptures.

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will
come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the
Holy Spirit and with fire. Luke 3:16

I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told
me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize
with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.” John 1:33,34

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled
with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of
them.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as
the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:3,4

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the
message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the
gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them
speaking in tongues and praising God.  Acts 10:44-46
